Make the connections

  1. Place equipment. Select a device in the tray, or drag it onto the workbench.
  2. Inspect it. Select a device on the bench, then choose Connections to enlarge its sockets.
  3. Choose a cable end. Select a cable in the tray. Each end has its own status. For a keyboard or mouse, one end is already built in.
  4. Connect. Select the socket on the inspection panel or a bench outlet. Switch to another device to attach the other end.
  5. Test. Use the separate power switches, check the image, and complete the two input tests below the bench.

Everything also works by clicking, tapping, or keyboard. Tab moves between controls; Enter or Space activates them. The bench drawing shows connections schematically, not actual cable routing.

Prepare a desktop kit for handover

A desktop workstation has reached the service bench. Assemble the supplied peripherals and demonstrate that the kit is ready to use.

Any available compatible rear USB-A socket is acceptable. Either AC power cable may supply either device. This lab practices part of Core 1 objective 3.2; it does not assess the entire objective.
